FERSWorth Terms of Use

These terms apply to the FERSWorth iPhone app ("the app"), made by MannyD.dev Software Solutions ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. License

The app is licensed to you, not sold, under Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA). These terms add to that agreement; where they conflict, the Apple EULA controls.

2. Estimates only, not advice

Estimates only. FERSWorth is not affiliated with OPM or any government agency. Confirm with your agency's HR/benefits office or OPM before deciding. FERSWorth applies published FERS rules to the numbers you enter. Your official annuity is computed by the U.S. Office of Personnel Management from your agency's records, which may differ from what you entered (for example your service computation date, high-3, sick leave balance, military deposit, or part-time service). Future cost-of-living adjustments, Social Security amounts, health premiums and taxes are assumptions, not predictions.

The app, including any annuity, supplement, deduction, comparison, projection, lifetime total or PDF report it produces, is for general information only and is not financial, retirement, legal, tax, or investment advice. Before you choose a retirement date or make any election, get an official estimate from your agency's human resources or benefits office, and talk with a qualified advisor if you need one.

We work to apply the rules accurately and cite the official source for each one, but we do not guarantee that the app is complete, current, or error-free. Laws, regulations and OPM guidance can change.

3. Not affiliated with the government

FERSWorth is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, the Social Security Administration, the Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board, any employing agency, or any other government body.

4. What version 1 does not cover

Special category retirement (such as law enforcement officers, firefighters and air traffic controllers), disability retirement, CSRS, CSRS Offset, and FERS transferees with CSRS service are not supported. Part-time service is flagged but not prorated. The app says so instead of showing numbers for these cases.

5. FERSWorth Pro

  • Pro is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase. It is not a subscription and does not renew.
  • Payment is processed by Apple. The price shown in the app at the time of purchase is the price you pay, plus any applicable tax.
  • Pro stays unlocked for the Apple Account that bought it. Use Restore purchase after reinstalling or on a new iPhone.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
  • Features may evolve over time. We will not remove Pro access you have paid for while the app remains available.

6. Ads

The free version shows advertising provided by Google AdMob. We do not control the content of individual ads and are not responsible for advertisers' products or claims. An ad in the app is not a recommendation of any financial product or service. See the Privacy Policy for how ads use data.

7. Acceptable use

Do not reverse engineer the app, interfere with its operation, or use it in any way that violates the law or the Apple EULA.

8. Availability

We may change, suspend, or discontinue the app or any feature at any time. The yearly values the app uses may be delayed or revised for reasons outside our control.

9. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. You are responsible for your own retirement decisions and elections. To the fullest extent permitted by law, MannyD.dev Software Solutions will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app or any decision made based on it, and our total liability will not exceed the amount you paid for FERSWorth Pro.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The current version will always be posted on this page with an updated date. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the new terms.
