FERSWorth Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 10, 2026

FERSWorth ("the app") is made by MannyD.dev Software Solutions ("we", "us"). It estimates a federal employee's FERS retirement benefits. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information. It covers the FERSWorth app only; the policy for our website and client services is here.

The short version. There is no account and no server of ours that receives your data. Your birth date, service dates, salary, sick leave, military service, survivor choice, health premium, Social Security estimate and saved scenarios stay on your iPhone and are never sent to us or anyone else. The free version shows ads from Google AdMob, which has its own data practices described below. FERSWorth Pro removes ads entirely.

1. Information stored on your device

Everything you enter (dates of birth and service, salary or high-3, breaks in service, sick leave hours, military service, retirement plans, survivor election, FEHB premium, Social Security estimate, expected earnings and withholding), your saved scenarios, your display preferences, and whether you have unlocked Pro are stored locally on your iPhone. This information never leaves your device: it is not sent to us, to Google, or to any other service, and it is not used for ads. It is included in your own iPhone backup like other app data. Deleting the app deletes it.

2. Yearly values file

The app comes with a file of published yearly figures (such as the latest cost-of-living adjustment and the Social Security earnings limit) and checks for an updated copy on GitHub Pages, a service of GitHub, Inc. That request contains nothing about you beyond what any web request carries (such as your IP address). It never includes anything you entered, and we do not log or analyze it. GitHub may keep standard server logs under the GitHub Privacy Statement.

3. Advertising (free version)

The free version displays a banner ad served by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google's SDK may collect:

  • Your device's advertising identifier (IDFA), only if you allow tracking when iOS asks
  • Your IP address, which is used to estimate your general (not precise) location
  • Ad interactions, such as which ads were shown or tapped
  • Diagnostic and performance information about the ad SDK

iOS asks for your permission before the app can access your advertising identifier ("Allow Tracking"). If you decline, you see the same ads, but they are not personalized using that identifier. Where required by law, the app also shows a Google consent message before any ads load. You can change the tracking choice at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.

The app never passes your salary, dates, service, retirement plans or any other answer to the ad SDK. Google's use of the information it collects is governed by Google's Privacy Policy; see also how Google uses information from apps that use its services. We do not receive your advertising identifier or any ad profile.

4. Purchases

FERSWorth Pro is purchased through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Apple processes the payment; we never see your payment details, name, or Apple Account. The app only learns whether the purchase is valid.

5. PDF reports

Pro can make a PDF report of an estimate. It is created on your iPhone and goes only where you send it with the iOS share sheet.

6. Links to other websites

The app can open official pages (such as OPM, the Social Security Administration and our support pages) in an in-app browser. Those sites have their own privacy policies. We do not see what you do on them.

7. Analytics and tracking

We do not include any analytics or tracking SDKs of our own. Apart from the Google Mobile Ads SDK described above, the app contains no third-party code that collects data.

8. Children

FERSWorth is a general-audience app for working adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and the app does not ask for anyone's name, email, or contact details.

9. Your choices

  • Every optional question (health premium, Social Security estimate, earnings, withholding) can be left blank.
  • Decline tracking when iOS asks, or change it later in iOS Settings.
  • Upgrade to Pro to remove ads entirely, along with the ad SDK's data collection.
  • Delete a scenario in the app, or delete the app to remove everything it stored on your device.

10. Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with an updated date.
