MajorWorth Terms of Use

These terms apply to the MajorWorth iPhone app ("the app"), made by MannyD.dev Software Solutions ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. License

The app is licensed to you, not sold, under Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA). These terms add to that agreement; where they conflict, the Apple EULA controls.

2. Information only, not advice

Figures in MajorWorth are federal averages and medians from past years, published by the U.S. Department of Education's College Scorecard. Net prices are for the 2023-24 school year, earnings are for past graduates who received federal aid, and debt counts federal loans only. Your own costs, aid, debt, and earnings will differ, sometimes by a lot. The app, including any total cost, monthly payment, months-of-pay, or comparison figure it calculates, is for general information only and is not financial, educational, career, legal, or investment advice.

Before you choose a school, a major, or a loan, use each school's own net price calculator, read its official financial aid offer, and talk with the school's financial aid office or a qualified advisor. Loan payments in the app are estimates on the federal standard 10-year plan at a single fixed rate; your actual loans, rates, and repayment plan may differ.

We work to present the data accurately, but we do not guarantee that it is complete, current, or error-free, and the Department of Education may revise, withhold, or stop publishing any of it.

3. Not affiliated with the government or any college

MajorWorth is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the U.S. Department of Education, any government agency, or any college or university. School names are used only to identify the schools the data describes. College Scorecard data is a work of the U.S. government and is in the public domain.

4. MajorWorth Pro

  • Pro is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase. It is not a subscription and does not renew.
  • Payment is processed by Apple. The price shown in the app at the time of purchase is the price you pay, plus any applicable tax.
  • Pro stays unlocked for the Apple Account that bought it. Use Restore purchases after reinstalling or on a new iPhone.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
  • Features may evolve over time. We will not remove Pro access you have paid for while the app remains available.

5. Ads

The free version shows advertising provided by Google AdMob. We do not control the content of individual ads and are not responsible for advertisers' products or claims. An ad in the app is not a recommendation of any school, lender, or service. See the Privacy Policy for how ads use data.

6. Acceptable use

Do not reverse engineer the app, interfere with its operation or its data source, or use it in any way that violates the law or the Apple EULA.

7. Availability

The app depends on data published by the U.S. Department of Education and on third-party hosting. We may change, suspend, or discontinue the app or any feature at any time, and the underlying data may be delayed, revised, or interrupted for reasons outside our control.

8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. You are responsible for your own decisions about schools, majors, and borrowing. To the fullest extent permitted by law, MannyD.dev Software Solutions will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app or any decision made based on it, and our total liability will not exceed the amount you paid for MajorWorth Pro.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The current version will always be posted on this page with an updated date. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the new terms.
